Travelling Green. Eco cars, Eco trains

Car pollution is one of the major causes of global warming. Car pollutants cause immediate and long-term effects on the environment. Car exhausts emit a wide range of gases and solid matter, causing global warming, acid rain, and harming the environment and human health. Engine noise and fuel spills also cause pollution. .

Global Warming

Cars and trucks emit carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, which contribute total global warming pollution. Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere, which causes worldwide temperatures to rise. Warmer global temperatures affect farming, wildlife, sea levels and natural landscapes.

Air, Soil and Water

The effects of car pollution are widespread, affecting air, soil and water quality. Nitrous oxide contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer, which shields the Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun. Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide mix with rainwater to create acid rain, which damages crops, forests and other vegetation and buildings. Oil and fuel spills from cars and trucks seep into the soil near highways, and discarded fuel and particulates from vehicle emissions contaminate lakes, rivers and wetlands.

How to Reduce Car Pollution ?

Eco  transportation helps reducing Car Pollution and  not depend on diminishing natural resources like fossil fuels.

Did you know that rail transport is one of the most energy efficient modes of transport? In fact, greenhouse gas emissions per passenger kilometer for rail transport is up to five times less than that of car transport.

Comparing rail with road and air transport makes it possible to demonstrate that the train is much more sustainable, whether in terms of CO2 emissions, energy consumption, use of space, or noise levels. Train travel makes it easy to stay green, using 30 percent less energy per passenger mile than cars and 20 percent less than planes.

Electric cars release it electrochemically without any kind of combustion, thanks to lithium-ion batteries. This means that there is no fuel being burned and therefore no air pollution through CO2 happening while driving. Besides, Electric vehicles have much fewer moving parts than conventional vehicles; as a result, the cost to repair and maintain them is much cheaper. EVs additionally do not require oil or transmission fluid changes. EV drivers report them as being quiet and that their quick acceleration makes them fun to drive.

Electric vehicles can be an effective solution to air pollution. But their potential to reduce air pollution in the city will not be fully realized if consumers will not support them. We must encourage people to use electric vehicles by making them affordable, easily accessible, and reliable. Electric vehicles will be able to help address air pollution in the city and contribute to the transition towards fully replacing fossil fuel-based vehicles in the future.
